In the hotel room, leaving in 4 hours.
Heading home! Did not have to play today.
We went to this cool Museum of Olmec artifacts
some dating back 4000 years. We there was a group of us including Jack
DeJohnette and his lovely wife Lydia, and Ray Drummond.

The picture is of the first ancient Olmec head sculpture discovered.(weighs 20 Tons and is 4000 years old) How did they do it???? No metal tools or machines.
Came back to the hotel for lunch. There was a
Mariachi band playing and they had dancers as well to entertain us.

Tonight was fun, we went to check out the last
couple of concerts of the festival. The last concert being the big band
with special guests, playing their Latin repertoire. It was at a venue by the
lake and the sight was beautiful.

It was indeed sad to say goodbye to everyone
but it was an incredibly successful week for all. It was especially
difficult to say goodbye to Azue,

who was assigned as my personal festival
coordinator and guide for the week. The people here are wonderful and
everything was a blast!
